Open Countdown TimerBoost productivity with the classic 25/5 free online Pomodoro timer, built for achieving your max focus.
Open Pomodoro TimerStudying every day is rarely a matter of raw willpower. It usually comes down to having a calm space to work. You need a timer that keeps your work honest. You need a place to study near other people without webcam pressure. You also need a simple way to track whether your review covers the syllabus before exam day.
StudyClock brings those pieces into one browser tab. It combines six flexible study timers, live study rooms with audio chat, spaced revision for major exams, and eight built-in AI study tools. You can start a timer right away with no account. Or you can sign up for free to save your history, keep streaks, and join study rooms with friends.
StudyClock is a free online study platform built for students and self-directed learners. It treats time tracking as an active part of learning:
Instant guest access for all core timers.
Anyone can open the site and start a timer right away. You get full access to Pomodoro rounds, count-up clocks, ambient background sounds, and alarm ringers without logging in.
Runs in your browser with zero setup.
Everything works directly in your web browser on a laptop, tablet, or phone. You do not need to install an app or add a browser extension. No credit card is needed to start.
Cloud sync with a free account.
Signing up for a free account takes seconds. It unlocks your study history, daily streak counters, study room hosting, and AI credits.
Clear focus on privacy.
We never sell your study habits or private notes. Read the Privacy Policy for exactly what we collect and why.
Different tasks need different pacing. Writing an essay calls for long, steady focus. Memorizing terms or solving math problems works better in short, focused bursts. StudyClock gives you six distinct timer modes:
Focus for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. After four rounds, take a longer 15-minute break. You can change these lengths to 50/10 or 45/15 and save your favorite setups as named packages.
Set any target time from two minutes to several hours. The timer supports both standard digits and smooth visual pulse bars. It works well for timed practice tests and mock exam papers.
An open-ended clock that tracks how long you stay on task. It is ideal for open reading, deep research, or solving problem sets when you do not want an alarm cutting your flow.
A clear timer showing minutes, seconds, and hundredths of a second. It includes lap splits so you can time individual exam questions or see how fast you solve problems.
Pick the exact clock time you need to stop, such as 5:30 PM before class or dinner. The timer figures out how many minutes remain. This helps you work right up to a real-world cutoff.
A full-screen digital clock you can read from across the room. It fits shared study desks, kitchen tables, or second screens in a library.
Many web timers let you open a tab, walk away for hours, and claim false study hours. StudyClock uses a simple server check to keep your stats honest:
The five-minute minimum. On a fixed timer like a 25-minute Pomodoro, a session counts once you have studied for at least 5 minutes, or for the whole block if it is shorter. If you close the tab after 3 minutes, it does not count toward your daily streak.
The 60-second rule for open timers. Count-up timers must run for at least 60 active seconds before they log as a valid session.
Server duration limits. When your session ends, the server compares the timer against the exact server clock and page active time. If a tab went to sleep in the background, the server caps your time to the real minutes you spent on the page.
Focus score points. You earn one point for every verified minute of study. Break blocks award zero points, keeping your totals grounded in real effort.
Research by cognitive psychologists Ariga and Lleras (published in 2011) demonstrated that pausing a task for brief intervals prevents mental fatigue and keeps attention sharp over extended study hours.
Studying alone in a quiet room makes it easy to pick up your phone. StudyClock provides live study rooms where you can work near other students from around the world.
All group rooms run on our dedicated subdomain at StudyClock Study Rooms. They fit four main needs:
Relaxing rooms capped at 100 people. You can pick from six themes: Lofi Cafe, Dark Academia, Tokyo Cafe, Cozy Library, Night Owl, and Sakura Garden. Each room has gentle video backgrounds and sound mixers you can adjust.
Topic Study Groups.
Small rooms capped at 20 people. They are built for specific topics like exam review, coding, medical studies, and high school homework.
24/7 Regional Study Halls.
Quiet digital halls capped at 200 people. They stay open around the clock across Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific time zones.
Language Practice Rooms.
Live voice rooms for 2 to 20 people. They support 23 spoken languages across seven fluency levels for real speaking practice.
Our rooms use proven behavioral habits to help you sit down and work:
Quiet body doubling. Working next to others who are also studying creates gentle social support. Groups like CHADD point to body doubling as an easy way for students with ADHD to get started on hard tasks.
Two timer styles. Rooms can run in Free Focus mode where each person keeps their own timer. Or the host can start a Synced Pomodoro clock so the whole room works and rests together.
Chat locks during work. In Study With Me and Study Group rooms, the chat box locks during focus sprints. It opens only during breaks so messages do not distract you.
Voice with no cameras. Rooms offer optional audio chat powered by LiveKit WebRTC. Webcams and screen shares are turned off. This removes camera stress while still letting you speak with a study partner.
Cramming may help you pass a test tomorrow, but you quickly forget the material next week. StudyClock includes a built-in Chapter Tracker designed for steady review and long-term memory.
The tracker helps you prepare for school finals, college midterms, or major entrance tests like JEE, NEET, and USMLE:
Add your subjects and chapters. Enter each chapter by name along with your target test date.
Rate your topic mastery. Give each chapter a score between 1 and 5, where 1 means starting fresh and 5 means fully mastered.
Get spaced review dates. The system sets your next review dates based on your confidence rating and the days left before the test. Hard chapters come up more often, while strong topics are spaced further out.
Check your daily list. When you log in, StudyClock shows the exact chapters due for review today. You spend your energy on weak spots instead of re-reading what you already know.
Start a linked timer. Click start right from any chapter card. Every minute you study files directly under that chapter in your history.
StudyClock includes eight focused AI tools built into your study space. Instead of a generic chat box, each tool handles a clear study job with straightforward credit costs:
Paste lecture notes or book summaries up to 10,000 characters. The tool creates 5 to 50 study cards in sets of 5. It builds classic cards, fill-in-the-blank cards, word definitions, and true or false questions. You can edit any card before studying.
Paste text, web links, YouTube videos, or PDF files up to 30 pages. It gives you five clear styles: standard summaries, a 3-sentence brief, Cornell bullet notes, comparison tables, or full study guides with quiz questions. You can also ask follow-up questions about the text.
Build a custom daily study plan for an upcoming test. You can plan for one test or balance several subjects at once. The planner weighs your confidence and free daily hours. If you miss a day, the re-plan button adjusts your schedule without wiping out your past log.
Turn complex topics into visual concept trees up to four levels deep with a 60-node limit. You can pan, zoom, expand branches, and download your map as an image file.
Chat with a private study guide across five distinct personas (Study Buddy, Strict Professor, Socratic Questioner, Exam Simulator, and ELI5), or switch to the Concept Explainer tab for structured, multi-level concept breakdowns with worked analogies.
Paste your study notes to generate custom 5-to-30 question exams across multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, and short-answer questions with semantic AI grading and weak-topic diagnostics.
Take a picture of handwritten notes, printed sheets, or whiteboards. The vision tool reads text and formats math equations into clean notation. You can send the output directly to the summarizer, flashcard maker, or chat tutor.
Turn your notes or articles into spoken audio. Choose from four clear voices with speeds from 0.75x to 2.0x so you can review notes while walking or commuting.
All AI tools run on a simple credit system with no surprise charges:

| Flashcards (per 10 cards) | 10 credits | 5 credits |
| Summarizer (Text or Web link) | 5 credits | 3 credits |

Staying consistent across weeks of test prep needs clear proof of your work. StudyClock shows you plain, objective facts about your study habits:
Daily and weekly targets.
Set a daily study goal, like four hours a day, and watch your progress ring fill up as you complete sessions.
52-week study heatmap.
See your full year of study on a clear grid. It shows your busy weeks and warns you when you have gone too long without opening a book.
Best focus hours.
A 24-hour chart reveals your peak focus window. You can see whether your brain works best early in the morning, after lunch, or late at night.
Simple daily streaks.
Your streak grows by one for every day you finish at least one valid study block. If you miss a day, it resets back to 1. This rule builds the habit of sitting down daily.
Badges and leaderboard.
Earn achievement badges as you cross big marks, like 10 hours, 50 hours, and 100 hours of focus. You can also see how your daily study minutes compare with other students on the public leaderboard.
StudyClock connects your daily to-do lists directly to your timers:
Built-in task lists.
Write down your study tasks, guess how many timer blocks each will take, and tag them by subject. When you start a timer, link it to a task so your minutes count against that goal.
Clean notes library.
Take notes in markdown with bold text, code blocks, lists, and attached PDF files. You can keep notes private, share them with friends, or copy a public link.
The StudyFeed.
A simple, quiet community board. Share your daily study milestones, ask homework questions, or post a helpful study tip with other students.
StudyClock gives every student a rich set of free tools. We also offer a Pro plan for students who want higher limits and deeper stats:
